- Take a wok and add 1 cup of semolina to roast.Roast it but the colour should not change.keep aside.
- Now take a cooker add washed arhar dal add 3 cups of water.Add turmericpowder and salt.Cook it.
- Now take a wok add oil heat it,add mustard seed,curry leavesand whole red chillies say 7 of them.Add grated ginger.let it crackle.Add urad dal and chana dal.Let it be golden. Now Add chopped onions,green chillies.
- Saute till onions become translucent.Add grated carrot and capsicum diced.saute it till tender.Now add semolina and add 2 and a half cup if warm water.add salt and lemon juice to taste.
- Let it simmer for 5 mnts.Add spoon full of ghee when properly cooked.Your Upma is ready.
- Now take a pan,add oil heat it.Add mustard seeds,fenugreek seeds aesafoitida,curry leaves and rest of the red chillies.
- Add chopped onions and green chillies and tomatoes,saute it till tomatoes are tender.
- Add cooked arhar dal and cook.Now add tamarind pulp and 2 table spoon of sambhar masala.stir it nicely.Bring it to boil and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Now your sambhar is done.
