So amma always made a quick to eat unde. White Peas This kuzhambu - curry is made with white dry peas - vellai pattani. Soak the peas in water over-nite. After soaking, wash the peas and drain.
Instructions to make Dry Peas Curry/ Dry Peas Palya:
- Take the mixing bowl add Dry Peas wash and add enough water to it. Then soak overnight.
- In the morning rinse and drain the water throughout. then add some water into it and boil them till they becomes soft or well cooked.
- Now heat the oil/ghee in a pan, add mustard and cumin seeds allow it to splutter them. Then add Curry leaves and Ginger garlic paste saute well.
- Next add chopped onions saute it well until they turns translucent.
- Additionally add chopped tomato and stir continuously till they becomes soft and mushy.
- Further more add turmeric powder, chilli powder, garam masala, cumin & coriander powder saute well they becomes aromat smell but do not burn it.
- After add boiled Peas and salt to taste mix well with all ingredients. Finally add chopped coriander leaves.
- Then cover the lid and simmer for few seconds. Now Dry Peas Palya is ready.
- Lastly serve hot with roti, rice as you wish.
