This recipe is paneer with creamy gravy flavored with dry fenugreek leaves known as Fasoori Methi. Paneer Methi is a perfect side dish for formal dinner or even a quiet dinner where you want to impress someone. Any way or time you serve this, it is delicious. If fresh methi leaves are difficult to find then dried fenugreek leaves can be used.
Instructions to make Methi paneer:
- Take a pan, heat oil and butter.
- Once heated add cumin seeds, fennel seeds, chilli, bay leaf, a pinch of hing.
- Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add chilli ginger garlic paste, and sauté for few seconds.
- Now add all the dry masala, mix well and add 2 tbsp curd and sauté for few seconds.
- Now add the tomato purée and add half tsp sugar. Let it cook for a few seconds.
- After that add chopped methi and add the paneer after that add kitchen king masala.
- As per your choice of gravy add water and boil for a min.
- On top add 2 tbsp cream and mix well.
- Your methi paneer ready serve hot with roti paratha or naan.
Dried fenugreek leaves or kasoori methi is used to flavor many Indian dishes like - butter chicken, tandoori chicken, paneer tikka masala.
