- Take For making Gattas
- Get 1 bowl Gram flour
- Take 1 bowl washed peeled and chopped methi leaves

- Get 1 tbsp oil

- Get 2 tbsp cooking oil
- Get 2 bowl water for boiling Gattas and making curry
Gatta curry is made with gram flour dumplings boiled in water,sliced and added in a spicy yoghurt curry,some like to fry the steamed gattas before adding in the curry, this depends on personal choice. Mix all the gatta ingredients except the ghee/oil. Add two tablespoons of water to make a stiff dough. This is a traditional Gatta Curry Recipe.
Steps to make Gatta curry:
- Mix all the ingredients for making gatta dough. Add 2 tb spoon water and mix and knead a soft dough. If needed add some more water to knead a dough.
- Now make balls of dough and roll like a cylinder.
- Heat 2 bowls of water and put cylinderical Gattas in water and cook for 5 minutes after first boil. Remove Gattas from the water and keep this water for later use in the curry.
- Wash, peel and chop and grate onion garlic and ginger. Heat oil in a karahi and put cumin seeds and when cumin seeds splutter put grated onions and ginger and garlic and stir and cook till golden brown colour.
- Add tomato puree and cook till oil leaves the karahi.
- Cut big Gattas in smaller pieces.
- Add water in which Gattas were boiled and bring it to boil. Now add Gattas and cook on medium flame for 3 minutes. Delicious gatta curry is ready.
- Serve hot with chapatti or rice garnished with chopped coriander leaves.
