Soya Chunks Pulao is a simple and mild pulao recipe with coconut milk. I usually add soya chunks to vegetable biryani or on very rare ocassions make soya chunks biryani. Pulao recipe is a one pot rice dish made with rice, spices, vegetables & herbs. Veg pulao or vegetable pulao is a basic Indian style rice pilaf that is aromatic, delicious, healthy & super quick to.
Instructions to make Soya Pyaaz Pulao:
- Heat 1 or 2 tbsp of oil in the pressure cooker. Add cumin seeds and asafoetida. Add some chopped onions and sauté them till they turn translucent in colour.
- Then add chopped tomatoes and potatoes. Add some salt (as per taste) and soaked soya chunks also. Mix them well. Note - Sprinkle some water if the mixture gets dry.
- Add all the masalas, soaked rice. and some water. Now cover it and let the rice cook. (Atleast 2 whistles)
- Once done, turn off the flame. Transfer the rice to the serving plate and garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot with raita or curd.
Over the past few months, I have increased the usage of soya based products in my cooking even though my family isn’t very fond of soya. Soya Pulao contains a good amount of protein, nutrients and iron. This pulao recipe has lots of healthy and nutritional values because of soya chunks, hence makes a healthy addition to the regular pulao.
