Paal kozhukattai is one of my hubby's favourite sweets. I hardly remember the way my mom used to make this sweet,also I was not fond of this before marriage. After we came here to Singapore.

  1. Prepare 1 cup rice flour
  2. Take 2 cups boiling water
  3. Prepare 3 cups coconut milk

  6. Get 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder
  7. Prepare 1/2 tsp salt
  8. Take 1 tsp ghee

I have already made white paal kozhukattai, but this one is my favourite. I had been wanting to post this paal kozhukattai recipe since last diwali, somehow other recipes took Paal Kozhukattai Recipe - Ingredients. Paal Kozhukattai is the traditional sweet recipe of Tamilnadu. Add saffron threads to decorate Paal Kozhikattai.

Instructions to make Paal Kozhukattai:
  1. Take a non-stick pan and mix milk,1 cup water,ghee, salt and the rice flour.
  2. Heat this in medium flame with constant stirring until the water evaporates and forms a dough.
  3. The dough should have got cooked almost and this can be confirmed if the dough is non-sticky. Keep covered and take your convenient portions little by little and make tiny balls of desired size and steam it for 10mins.
  4. Add the coconut milk to a heavy bottom pan and bring to boil.Add the steamed tiny rice balls in two parts. Add half of the balls and wait until the milk boils again and again add the remaining balls.
  5. Add cardamom powder,sugar and mix well until it gets dissolved.Boil in medium flame for 3 minutes or until the balls float on the top. By now the milk would have gone thicker.
  6. Serve warm or chilled as per your preference.
