  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a pan and into it add garlic and ginger and saute it.
  2. Add onion and cook it until it becomes soft. Then add tomato and cashew in it and cook it until tomato becomes soft and mushy. Then switch off the flame.
  3. Allow this mixture to cool down and grind it into fine paste.
  4. Again heat butter in the same pan and into it add bay leaves, green chilli, dry fenugreek leaves, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder and coriander powder and saute it for a minute or two.
  5. Into it add diced onion and capsicum and cook it for 3-4 minutes then add onion-tomato paste into it and cook it for 7-8 minutes.
  6. Now add cream and sugar in this mixture and cook it for another 2 minutes.
  7. Then add water as per your requirement and cook it for 5-7 minutes.
  8. Then add paneer cubes and garam masala powder into it and cook for 3-4 minutes.
  9. Your kadhai paneer is ready to serve now.
