Steps to make Dal Tadka (Goan style):
- First wash and soak red lentils for 40 min. Then take a cooker add red lentils, salt, water and cook till come a boil. Then remove the impurities.
- Then add onion, tomato, ginger, green chilli, turmeric powder and asafoetida.
- Then take 5 whistles.Then take a pan heat oil add cumin seeds, asafoetida dry red chilli, curry leaves, garlic saute well.
- Then mix dal in tadka and seasoning with salt, sugar and black pepper powder.
- Then garnish with coriander leaves.Goan style dal is ready to serve.
Some people garnish this dal with some cream as well. If you do not have pressure cooker then you can cook dal in a pot or in any vessel with good. Dal tadka or Tadka Dal is one of the most basic yet one of the most popular dal recipes served in any Indian Restaurant.
