- Soak the rice, urdh dal for 4 hours.
- Grind as the texture of idli batter.

- Keep a pan, add 2tbsp coconut oil, splutter some mustard seed, curry leaves, add with batter, grease the cake pan, pour the batter and steam.
- The masala idli is ready to serve with plain coconut chutney.
