Instructions to make Masala Vada (South Indian Chana Dal Vada) Masala Vadai:
- Soak the chana dal for 2 hours.
- Drain and grind coarsely. There should be some whole chana dals.
- Add all the remaining ingredients except oil. Mix well to combine.
- Heat oil in a deep pan. Form a small ball on your palm and flatten it with your hands and gently slip it into the oil.
- Deep fry on both sides until golden brown. Do the same with the remaining mixture.
- Remove it on kitchen towel to absorb the extra oil.
- Serve hot Masala Vadai with green chutney and a cup of Masala Tea.
