Aloo Matar can me made dry (without adding any water) or with gravy (with water). I like both but I remember mom always made the one with gravy for dinner so I am sharing the same with you guys. Aloo chaat or alu chaat is a street food originating from the Indian subcontinent, it is popular in North India, West Bengal in Eastern India, Pakistan and also in parts of Sylhet Division of Bangladesh. It is prepared by frying potatoes in oil and adding spices and chutney.

- First put a pan on the gas stove. Put oil then add 1 green chilli. Then add chopped onion. When onion is brown add boiled peas and boiled mashed potatoes. Saute for 1 min.Then add turmeric powder, salt red chilli powder. Saute for 2 minutes. Then add water. Cover for 3 to 5 minutes. Curry is ready.
- For chutney boil tamarind for 1 minute. Let it cool. Out the tamarind seeds and pulps.then add 1 cup water. Add salt 1 spoon sugar,little roasted cumin seeds,little chat masala and red chilli powder. Add cornflower paste.Saute it.when the gravy is thick off the gas stove.
- Now in a plate first add matar curry. Then chopped onion, chopped carrots,chopped cucumber, crushed papdi, chat masala, roasted cumin seeds powder, black salt, sev,salt,then spread the curds and chutney. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves chopped green chilli and cornflakes. The yummy chat is ready.
