  5. Top with the bread . Mix the milk and the egg and pour this over the top of the bread
  6. Bake in oven on middle setting for about an hour or until bread is golden brown
  7. Sprinkle over the wild garlic if yiu like .You can eat this hot or cold . Serve instead of plain boiled potatoes cut into tennis ball size. Serve with a salad or with meat if you like.

The dumplings definitely will not stick to the baking sheet when it's lined. I don't usually do this because I try not want to waste paper, if possible.
